South Carolina DMV (Vehicle) Bill of Sale

The South Carolina DMV bill of sale, also known as Form 4031, is a form to be used in addition to the attached Notice of Vehicle Sold (Form 416) to properly transfer the ownership of a motor vehicle. The parties should wait to complete and sign the vehicle bill of sale until the day of trading the automobile for the monetary funds (cash or check).

• Odometer Disclosure Statement – Per federal law, if the vehicle is under ten (10) years of age and below 16,000 pounds (lb.)

• Seller’s Legal Name
• Seller’s Mailing Address
• Date of Sale – day, month, year
• Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
• Description of Vehicle including Make, Model, Body Type, and the Year
